KBB.com Dealer Rating Frequently Asked Questions

The KBB.com Dealer Rating measures your dealership’s consumer satisfaction from reviews on KBB.com and from Google and Facebook. The rating also considers review volume, the date of the reviews, and how often the dealership’s vehicles are priced at or below the Kelley Blue Book® Fair Market Range. It is important to note that the algorithm will evolve as we evaluate and optimize the formula to meet our shoppers needs.

Shoppers from KBB.com will now be invited to write reviews and rate the dealerships they’ve interacted with. Dealers will also be able to view and respond to reviews written for their dealership. The rating algorithm has also been enhanced and now measures the dealership’s consumer satisfaction from reviews on KBB.com and from Google and Facebook. The rating also considers review volume, the date of the reviews, and how often your inventory is priced at or below the Kelley Blue Book® Fair Market Range. A redesigned look and feel of the KBB.com Dealer Ratings badge and widget is also part of the enhancements.

Having zero reviews on either Facebook or Google will not affect your dealership’s overall KBB.com Dealer Rating and will not be used by the calculation algorithm. Also, if your dealership has zero ratings on either Facebook or Google, then the KBB.com Dealer Rating will not be displayed within your listings.

At this time Kelley Blue Book will invite select consumers via email to write reviews of their dealership experiences. These consumers are targeted based on indicators that identify them as current shoppers with a high probability of actively visiting and interacting with dealers. Future phases will allow any site visitor who interacted with your dealership to write a review.

The KBB.com Dealer Ratings are updated nightly. Any newly written reviews should be reflected with 24 hours.

You will receive an email notification from Kelley Blue Book when your dealership receives a new review. You can respond to your reviews by clicking the link inside the email or by going to Dealer Site and clicking KBB.com Ratings in the Shortcuts section. All dealers who have KBB.com Reviews will have access to the dashboard.

Your review responses will appear alongside the original consumer review within 24 hours.

Kelley Blue Book encourages dealerships to deliver a consistent and transparent shopping experience but understands that not all clients want to utilize a reviews platform. In necessary circumstances, dealerships may elect to suppress the KBB.com Dealer Rating badging from showing alongside their listings, however, the KBB Dealer Rating will always be displayed on the Dealer Details Page and cannot be removed from this page.
